Phoenix Productions CIC was established to fill a vital niche in the Shropshire arts scene. Founders Scott Sutherland and Richard Taylor recognised the need for a high-calibre production company specifically for performers aged 25 and over in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
As a Community Interest Company, our mission is to marry artistic excellence with social purpose, providing a professional-standard platform for the region’s most talented adult performers and volunteers.

Scott Sutherland A familiar face on the Shrewsbury stage, Scott is a seasoned actor and vocalist who has performed numerous lead roles for local companies. With over five years of experience at the helm of community theatre groups, he brings a deep understanding of what it takes to lead a successful ensemble. Scott’s dual passion for performance and leadership ensures that every Phoenix production is grounded in artistic rigour and a supportive, professional environment.
Richard Taylor Richard brings a formidable 360-degree perspective to the company. His extensive background spans performing, directing, and technical theatre, ensuring that every detail, from the spotlight to the script is executed to the highest standard. Complementing his creative craft is a wealth of commercial experience; having successfully owned and operated multiple restaurants, Richard provides the business acumen and operational expertise that ensures Phoenix Productions is a sustainable and professionally managed organisation.
